A very poor race to start things off with at Redcar. And one that appears to be at the mercy of Marsh Orchid, who already holds Oh Golly Gosh on their recent encounter at Nottingham and should easily confirm his superiority if avoiding any mishaps. Alpha Juliet and Borodinsky have not really caught the imagination on what they have shown to date but do appeal as the best of the rest. The last named is exposed as moderate and has something to prove as he tries this trip for the first time, while Alpha Juliet's debut form is not really working out and those that raced subsequently have exactly hit any heights of note. Therefore Marsh Orchid looks the most reliable option in spite of the likelihood of cramped odds being available. Factor in Paul Hannagan's strike-rate since his return to race-riding, and everything looks to be in place (bar the price) for Mash Orchid to get a confidence booster under his belt before going on to better things from here.
