In race three on the card the vote goes to Palouse ahead of Dragon King, Sacrifice and Adolphus. What the selection has going for him is that he has proven himself pretty consistent, is just three pounds above a winning mark, likes to hear his hooves rattle and, overall, there are doubts about a number of his opponents. We expect a big run from the grey. Dragon King comes into things based on the fact that he hails from a stable in form and, much as he is not as good as he once was, he ran well under a big weight at Bangor last time, when he is clearly better on right-handed tracks. Sacrifice was a fair second from a two-pound lower mark at Newton Abbot last time and might well fare better at this longer trip, which he hasn't really tried since showing he stayed it in his hunter chase days. With Half An Hour being a bit in-and-out, Uncle Mick seemingly better over further, Gus des Bois lacking a recent run and appearing to be best with some give in the going anyway, and Irishkawa Bellevue having shown only modest form in three chasing starts, the wheel spins back, once again, to Palouse, who is the selection.
