Verdict

SEAMOUR, runner-up in last year's Northumberland Plate, had two runs over hurdles in December 2014 and won them both including here. His Flat rating improved 15lb in that time so he looks on a lenient mark for his return over timber. Utility is progressing nicely and though stepping up a grade after his Worcester double he won both comfortably so should be capable of making the transition. Master Of Irony has been going well on the Flat and over hurdles and the fact that Richard Johnson hangs around for the ride is a pointer while among the many dangers in a competitive finale is Keep In Line, placed in a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Ascot in December.
