Rare Gold gets the nod in the opening maiden hurdle with Pass It On and Four For A Laugh rated as his biggest dangers. Rare Gold chased home Keenans Future last time out and had previously ran second behind Dunsfold Duke on his racecourse debut. The ex-Irish point-to-pointer is likely to appreciate the bigger obstacles in time but looks capable of landing an event of this standard before switching his attention to fencing. Four For A Laugh represents the in-form Alan King stable. He ran poorly when making his debut in a Hereford bumper but stuck to his task well when second behind a well-fancied Jonjo O'Neill horse in a Ludlow novices' hurdle in February. O'Neill is represented here by Pass It On and AP McCoy rides this JP McManus-owned gelding. The horse will have learnt from his previous two outings where he ran fourth on both occasions and he cannot be ruled out at this level.
