Verdict

A poor seller gets proceedings underway but something has to win and the principals look to be Native Commander, Longstone Lady and Leiuday and the vote is given to Native Commander. The selection was a fair third behind Elegant Clutter last time out. That form looks solid in the context of this race and with this faster surface in his favour he looks the one to be on. Longstone Lady rates the main danger on her latest fourth behind Bally Bolshoi. This looks easier and she will not be far away but she has had plenty of chances in the past without taking one and for that reason is opposed. Leiuday was placed at up to a mile on the flat and if his stamina lasts out he would be another with definite place claims. Of the remainder Pearlystar hails from a yard in form and could go well at a price but he has not progressed as expected and in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum for the winner we return to Native Commander.
