In depth

Verdict

A competitive contest gets proceedings underway and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Major Matt, Storm Talk and Or Sing About and the narrow vote is given to Major Matt. The selection was a fair fourth behind Ballamusic last time out, he enters handicaps off what looks a fair mark and under conditions that suit he looks the one to be on. Storm Talk rates the main danger on his latest second behind Not For Diamonds but he looked very onepaced on that occasion and he is taken on with this in mind. Or Sing About is another worthy of respect on his latest third behind Brown Fox but all his best form is on a softer surface. Of the remainder Greenfield looks on a handy mark and could go well at a price while Miss Muscat has yet to prove she stays this far and for the winner we return to the unexposed Major Matt.
