In depth

Verdict

Orphina was nothing out of the ordinary on the flat and would need to improve greatly for being switched to hurdles to trouble Lester Leaps In who gets the vote ahead of Cockatoo and Mon Michel. The last mentioned has found one too good in each of his last three starts but Gary Moore's gelding, who was useful on the level in Ireland, is improving with each start and he has more solid claims than stablemate Panjo Bere who may struggle under his penalty. Norman Beckett has shown signs of ability but may be booked for a place at best and of more interest may be another of Gary Moore's three runners Cockatoo. He is going the right way having won his last two starts but this looks tougher under his penalties and preference is for Nicky Henderson's Lester Leaps In who ran better last time, having disappointed in better company at Cheltenham previously.
