chased leader and raced wide, ridden, lost pace and outpaced 7th, rallied 3f out, stayed on to go 2nd 1f out

Baker's Girl probably has the best form among those to have raced previously but that does not amount to a great deal and it will come as no surprise to see Lord of Sehayl make a winning debut and he gets the vote with Rathcor looking the best of the remainder. The selection takes the eye on pedigree and the Venetia Williams-trained gelding would not need to be anything out of the ordinary to make a winning start to his career. Captain Willoughby has been well held in both starts so far, while Lourd Hymn was pulled up in both starts in point-to-points and is hard to recommend. Checked Shirt gave little sign of encouragement on his debut and of more interest may be point winner Rathcor. This is a distinctly moderate contest though and Lord of Sehayl has solid claims on his debut.
