Verdict

Grand Cru completed a double when successful over the C&D in June and a 3lb rise shouldn't prevent another good run, though runner-up Whitehead Lad has a fair chance of reversing the form on these terms. Gudnis Gracious Me has been in fine form over hurdles and fences and should go well while Cinderella Story has been running well on the Flat and over timber and is reasonably treated. Kristal Komet is still a maiden on the Flat after 15 starts but came close over this trip at Ballinrobe on Monday. However, KHAYAR, who started favourite after excellent form over hurdles, had a mishap coming out of the stalls and did well to get so close. Compensation awaits here and his young rider's claim is a bonus.
