In depth

Verdict

Bandama, a maiden hurdle winner here on fast ground in August, is favoured by the conditions but has been in poor form over timber and fences. Beliar won a C&D handicap in June but has never really taken to hurdling and has been well beaten on two subsequent starts. He should do better back on the Flat but is rated almost a stone behind Gra Geal Mo Chroi, who comfortably landed a Sligo claimer last time but is best with some give in the ground. PEAKS OF FIRE gained his first success on the level at Killarney last month and showed himself in decent form with a fair run over hurdles at Ballinrobe on Monday. His stable is in good form and he should be good enough for this, though Quai Du Roi was in good form on fast ground at this time last summer and is respected.
