In depth

Verdict

Lady Zephyr has outstanding claims and can complete a hat-trick, with Thrilling Prospect and Black Collar taken to chase her home. With Nigel Twiston-Davies sending out winners left, right and centre it is hard to oppose Lady Zephyr who is yet to be beaten in three bumpers since coming over from Ireland. Successful here in April, the daughter of Toulon showed that she can handle the stiff track, and this former point-to-pointer should have no trouble adapting to hurdles. She gets a solid vote over Thrilling Prospect who did not jump very well at Hereford last time. She should find the drop in trip in her favour though and is place material. The selection's stablemate Lady Shopper has a long absence to overcome and so for the other place, Black Collar makes more appeal. Kim Bailey is a trainer to follow at this track and his mare, a dual point-to-point winner should have learnt a bit from her promising bumper introduction at Market Rasen in April. However, she and the rest will find it hard to stop the in-form Lady Zephyr.
