Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

Ferimon can gain the day over the other penalised runner Medici, with Easter Present one to watch on his return to action. Ferimon quickly made amends for a fall at Bangor on his debut over timber by scoring well from Mnason at Towcester in December, proving that he has enough stamina to handle this move up in distance. Henry Daly's six-year-old will be having only his fourth career start and with plenty of jumping experience on the dam's side, he will no doubt be going over fences himself soon. In the meantime he can prove too strong here for Medici who won here over shorter last time. He nearly pulled up on the run-in that day and had to be rousted up by Robert Thornton to prevail, so let us hope that he does not have a kink in his make-up. If Easter Present had not been absent since February then he would have been fancied much more strongly. His seconds to Green Tango and Crossbow Creek look good, especially in the light of the latter's subsequent Lanzarote success at the weekend. Of the rest, Yes My Lord makes most appeal, having been up against it when taking on Gold Medallist at Exeter. He can only improve, but on this occasion will surely fine Ferimon too hot to handle.
