In depth

Verdict

Unleash steps up to three miles for the first time and is taken to come out on top over Phar From Frosty and Boobee. Unleash finally got his head in front at Worcester recently after finding one too good both over hurdles and fences, and is now put over a trip that will bring out the best of his qualities. He was head and shoulders over these rivals over timber, and now that he has opened his account over the bigger obstacles, there should be plenty more to come. The trainer reckons that he wants fast ground to be most effective, although a look back at his Flat form reveals that he won quite a few times with cut in the ground, so if the rain continues, it should not pose a problem. Phar From Frosty has been lightly campaigned and should be found a staying contest in due course, while Boobee will need to brush up his jumping based on his success here at Stratford that came over a shorter trip than today's. Unleash was good enough to win the Northumberland Plate two years ago, and can take this on the way to bigger and better things over fences.
