Dual winner Shadow Bay is bound to be popular with backers dropped back into selling company despite having disappointed at Brighton last time but Tom Dascombe's gelding may struggle to give weight away to ISLAND CHIEF, who gets the verdict with Iorek Byrnison rated the pick of the remainder. The selection faced no easy task in a claimer at Wolverhampton last time but Kevin Ryan's colt has solid claims on earlier form dropping into this grade for the first time. Spiritual Bond ran better dropped into this grade last time and is another to consider along with the lightly raced Becky Blue, who has only had the one start so far. The David Nicholls-trained Iorek Byrnison has shown enough to suggest that he could take a hand in a race as poor as this but preference is for Island Chief who is taken to open his account.
