In depth

Verdict

A competitive contest gets proceedings underway with very little between many of the leading lights and the principals look to be Compadre, Jivaty and Encore Codoudal and the tentative vote is given to the last named. The selection was very disappointing when pulled up behind Parknasilla last time but prior to that he had been a fair third in a similar race to this behind Alam. This faster surface looks sure to suit and he looks the value bet in an open affair. Compadre rates the main danger as he is one of the most consistent in the field and he was a good second behind Powder Creek last time out. However he barely stays this trip and again a place may be the best he can hope for. Jivaty was the best of these over hurdles but although he travelled well for a long way last time when fifth behind Tipp Top he found little off the bridle and for that reason he is overlooked. Tribal Dispute looks sure to be sent off favourite but he is another that tends to sherk the issue when the going gets tough. Of the remainder Kippour is from a yard in form and is worth noting in the market but for the winner we return to Encore Cadoudal.
