Verdict

Although Chatifa was a huge let down on her latest start and there will be better short-priced favourites to get involved with in the coming weeks, the daughter of Titus Livius should be too good for this bunch and she is given the backing to redeem her reputation today. Penny Pie, with Richard Quinn riding for his old boss Peter Harris, is taken to give the selection the most to do out of those with previous experience but a move for Miss Cap Ferrat will also be worth noting. However, Chatifa has to be better than she showed at Newcastle and is better judged on her debut effort behind a useful sort from the Godolphin operation at Newmarket on her debut. That form reads well in the context of this race and it will be very disappointing for all concerned if Chatifa does not get off the mark with ease here.
