In depth

Verdict

BALTIMORE CLIPPER has more experience than Flouncing and can be backed to come out on top today. Soul Station ought to have learned a good deal from his debut run at Kempton and is also respected as a player in what is arguably the weaker division of this maiden. So much so that any support for the debutante, Shoot The Pot, would also have to be considered significant. The selection has been runner up three times from four previous starts, so obviously has his limits. However, the form is solid for a race of this nature and it would be harsh to begrudge Paul Cole's charge a change of fortune. William Haggas has a line on our hope through the improved Aziz, so it would be folly to disrespect the claims of Flouncing; who seems to have a bright future ahead of him. However, Baltimore Clipper is a versatile and worthwhile opponent and he sets a good enough standard to side with for the time being.
