In depth

Verdict

Faranadooney began with a promising run behind Legendary Lad at Cork on heavy ground but has flopped in two subsequent starts on much faster going. Thank Your Stars finished just behind Faranadooney at Cork but appears to have made more progress having finished third behind Zayaan in a Naas maiden last month. Top Spin has been consistent enough and has competed in some decent contests including when not too far behind the useful Reiteration at Gowran. He looks best of those with experience but Jim Bolger had four entered at the early stage and relies on Mega Heart while Dermot Weld's CLEAR ALTERNATIVE catches the eye on breeding as he is related to several high-class performers and is still entered in the Derby.
