In an open looking amateur riders' claimer MY MATE MAL looks the percentage call on these terms with Heathyards Pride needing to prove he retains his old ability while a visor could help Mista Rossa find the necessary improvement to score. Although best at Southwell the selection does act at this track and having held his form well since recording back-to-back successes he looks the one to be with over his optimum trip. Heathyards Pride is the highest rated in the field and is actually best in at the weights. The veteran obviously has had his problems recently and we wait to see if any of his old talent remains. Mista Rossa will be fit from a spell hurdling and was a winner of a Newcastle handicap on his last appearance on the level so given he doesn't have to find much at these weights he looks to have a chance. Mustajed ran a good race in defeat last time and should be considered as should Dream Of Fortune who is weighted for a big run. A tough start to the card but My Mate Mal is on form and well treated.
