In depth

Verdict

Mr Fortywinks has won 10 times at this distance and is an admirable character, but he has not won since this race last year; hence he gets in off bottom weight here. He goes well fresh and is one to consider. However, Franny Norton is one of the best light-weight jockeys about and the fact that he gets on well with Best Port could conspire to foil Mr Fortywinks in his bid to add to his tally. Prairie Falcon impressed on his reappearance and also warrants close attention in his preparations for the Chester Cup. Court Shareef is a consistent performer and is one to consider for tricast permutations.
