In depth

Verdict

Another race that Mark Johnston farms and he saddles Gulf Coast today. His previous run wasn't amazing though and whilst he is entitled to improve considerably, we will take a chance on Montiboli ahead of Apollo Shark. Kevin Ryan won this race last year and looks to have a likely contender in Montiboli today. Bred for speed, this daughter of Bahamian Bounty must have solid claims from what could be a good draw if the rain continues to come. Gulf Coast should come on plenty for his debut when he ran green and was well beaten behind a potentially smart horse in Group Therapy. Apollo Shark and Bollin Guil are two other likely newcomers and the market will help guide, but for the winner we will return to Montiboli.
