Verdict

STEEL TRAIN is inconsistent but would win this on his close second in a much better handicap over a mile here last month. He ran poorly on his next start at Haydock but hopefully can bounce back. Sands Chorus has been running well since scoring on heavy going at Pontefract though has looked a couple of pounds high in the ratings. Salieris Mass made a successful debut over 1m2f here last April and again ran well on the track last month so should be in the firing-line but El Beau didn't take advantage of a drop in grade at Chester last time. Gulf Of Poets beat subsequent winner Jacbequick at Beverley though an extra furlong wouldn't go amiss while One Pekan hasn't been in the best of form on the all-weather.
