If class is the key, then Hoh Mike is the pick over the likes of Stevie Gee, Elhamri, College Scholar and Dodge City to name but a few. Hoh Mike looked every inch a colt to follow earlier this year when learning his trade the winning way at Windsor, and has not been disgraced in top company over the summer. Michael Bell's charge has taken on Group 2 opponents such as Dutch Art in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, and judged by the way that he stayed on in third behind Wi Dud in York's Flying Childers, will relish the step back up to six furlongs. Beaten a neck by Elhamri on his Windsor debut, he can now meet that tough rival on 7lb better terms, so should reverse the form with Sylvester Kirk's challenger at the very least. Stevie Gee is another worthy opponent, whose Listed success at Ripon was his third on the bounce. Successful over the course-and-distance earlier, he has leading claims as well. Nursery winner College Scholar is pitched in at the deep end but Mick Channon knows what it takes to land these type of races, and Dodge City, although another with a bit to find, also hails from a stable full of decent youngsters this year. Hoh Mike has the best form of all though, and can take this valuable prize.
