Verdict

Mark Johnston won this old-established handicap last season and Revolutionist made all to land a similar-class contest at Newmarket for which he's been raised 4lb. David O'Meara's Hit The Jackpot wins at a slightly lower level as does English Summer though the latter ran very well at this grade at Chester last time. O'Meara has three other entries with the rapidly improving Tawdeea likely to prove best of them though he's taking a big step-up in class from his Newcastle victory. WINTER HOUSE made a successful debut at Newmarket last April but didn't race again until three weeks ago when runner-up in a similar class handicap on good ground at Lingfield. He definitely looked in need of the experience that day and should be capable of achieving a higher mark than this so gets the vote. Central Square is another with little experience and will need to make major strides to supplement his Windsor maiden success. Swift Emperor could provide the main threat as he was very unlucky in-running at Ripon last time and is well up to this sort of company.
