In depth

Verdict

David O'Meara won the first running of this last year and his new recruit Tawayna could be starting off on a fair mark though the form of her victory at Ripon hasn't worked out. David Barron acquired Berilos from Ireland and he made a successful start for the yard at Southwell in March so there's every likelihood of further progress. The North Yorkshire handler also runs Wolverhampton winner Semana Santa and she's another with plenty of scope. LAUGHTON hasn't had much racing but ended his first campaign with a victory at Musselburgh. He's been well supported on both starts this season and with a strong pace likely can stay on to take this for Kevin Ryan. Harmonic Wave had a good first season and looks just the type to make progress while First Rate has shown potential and Roger Varian's colt should be capable of better on his handicap debut.
