In depth

Verdict

Caravel has shown improved form since being sent handicapping having won each of his last three starts and Sir Mark Prescott's gelding is taken to defy a 6lb penalty and make it four on the bounce here, getting the verdict ahead of Voodoo Moon and Fragrancy. The last mentioned has run consistently since winning at Windsor in July but may be a shade high in the weights still so looks booked for a place at best. Mick Channon's Mark Of Love ran better at Ripon last time but may want a softer surface to show his best form, while Deadline has been running well and should be thereabouts again. Mark Johnston's Voodoo Moon is better than recent starts suggest and he cannot be discounted but Caravel has solid claims and is hard to oppose.
