In depth

Verdict

Jennie Candlish has Dakota Rain in fine form at present and the five-year-old is taken to defy his 6lb penalty for a comfortable success at Newcastle last week and win his fourth race in five starts, getting the vote ahead of John Keats and Mundo's Magic. The last mentioned ran better over seven furlongs at Catterick last time but is not certain to appreciate the drop back to six today so may be best watched. Recent Newcastle third Guest Connections looks the pick of the two runners that David Nicholls saddles ahead of Circuit Dancer. Another Genepi has claims on the pick of her form but could probably do with some help from the handicapper and a bigger threat seems likely to come from the in-form John Keats. None of these are in as good form as Dakota Rain though and he is taken to win again.
