In depth

Verdict

Blue Ksar can get the better of stablemate Tam Lin and the Richard Fahey-trained Flying Clarets in an event that looks like a good prep-race for a possible return to the White Rose county for visit to York next month. Blue Ksar holds an entry in the Juddmonte International (Stakes) and a bold show would do plenty to boost himself up the pecking order for that Group 1 prize. The presence of Tam Lin should help ensure he gets the strong pace he needs and this son of Anabaa - a half brother to French Derby winner Blue Canari - appears to have everything in his favour. A line through Emirates Skyline gives him the beating of Flying Clarets, who appears to be best of the rest, although a move for Contentious would not be without foundation now that John Dunlop's string are firing on all cylinders. However, this Blue Ksar holds inescapable claims and is fancied to deliver - even though his odds are likely to be very skinny.
