Fullards' recent Haydock victory makes him the most viable proposition in a tricky opener, with Fabrezan and Maninga others worth a mention. There was little fluke about Fullards' 25/1 shock at the Merseyside track and with Warren Marston taking the mount (Steven Craine had held the mount at the five-day stage) - Pam Sly's gelding looks the one to be with. Fabrezean has one or two ground worries but with Timmy Murphy booked we believe that Bernard Llewellyn's charge holds decent claims. This race is evidently much better than the claimer he won but there are no problems with regard to the trip. Going Global showed his fruits and his flaws at Plumpton last week. He travelled majestically throughout the contest but when push came to shove the white flag was waved all too readily. Maninga had useful form on the surface as a novice and now that he has dropped a few pounds in the weights, he should be watched for any market confidence. In summary, we believe that Fullards is the one to be with and Maninga is the one to watch in the market.
