Red Dahlia is not badly treated and is taken to beat Mrs Philip, Red Canyon and Redspin. Red Dahlia won a mares' only contest at Fakenham in May, and has run well since off higher marks at Towcester and Fontwell, so there is no reason why she should not go close in this company. The way that she stayed on behind Space Cowboy at Fontwell suggests that the longer trip will bring out the best in her, and she is the pick. Mrs Philip was pulled up at Newton Abbot on her return but was profitable to follow last term, and it will not be long before she gets back to winning ways. Red Canyon has just gone off the boil of late but is another not to rule out completely, while Redspin has topweight but would have gone closer at Stratford last time but for a costly mistake two out. Red Dahlia has the best recent form overall, and gets our vote.
