In depth

Verdict

Named At Dinner is consistent at this level and gets the nod over Reflex Blue and Mariday. David Pipe has a handful of contenders entered here over the next couple of days and Mariday would hardly be the most resilient character to make the journey north from Devon. However, the ground will be to his liking and he could be good value for a place in the frame at this level. Reflex Blue is also an 'in-and-out' performer and his supporters will need to show a good bit of faith. The gelding has the form to win at this level but can never be guaranteed to go through with his effort. A move for Tuscany Rose would be dangerous to ignore, as she goes well at this course and, as this marks a drop in grade, she cannot confidently be ruled out. However, Named At Dinner has hinted that his turn is not too far away with a handful of near misses of late and, assuming he runs to that level again, he is fancied to be hard to beat in this company.
