Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

A modest seller to start proceedings and Bret Maverick is taken to account for Patavian and Roxy Singer. Bret Maverick is hardly a bombproof selection but John Weymes' string are in relatively fair form and having ran a fair race at Ripon on heavy going, a repeat of that form could be enough to ensure victory here. Patavian had all manner of aids on at Hamilton but still could not land one of the weakest races to have ever been staged at the track. The percentage call is to oppose. Roxy Singer has to be respected as a rare runner at the track from the Willie Musson stable. She put up an improved effort for the application of a first time visor and the experiment is repeated this afternoon. Lady Pickpocket needs to reverse form on that outing. Namarian drops into this grade for the first time and is watched in the market.Watch Out and Glorious View both hail from the Mick Easterby stable so a watching brief on the market is similarly advised. Glenridding could be anything. A race that will take little in the way of winning and Bret Maverick is taken to land the spoils.
