Verdict

Saeed Bin Suroor has saddled three of the last four winners of divisions of this maiden and BLACK EAGLE makes plenty of appeal in a race where Simulate and Troopingthecolour are amongst those of interest. The selection was sent off at odds-on on debut at Pontefract suggesting that his homework had been above average. He's related to plenty of winners, was noticeably green on debut when not given too hard a time and he shouldn't be unduly inconvenienced by the possibility of a softer surface and he can be expected to improve. Ground conditions could be key for Simulate as his brother, Home Affairs, showed his best form on top of the ground but his family also includes the progressive sprinter Main Aim and the market may be the best guide. Troopingthecolour has shown ability on both starts and was some way in front of Country Road at Doncaster although the Chapple-Hyam runner improved markedly at the second time of asking. Panto Princess has shown enough to think that she can be in the shake-up whilst David Lanigan's newcomers merit a second look with Two Together appearing to be the first string.
