In depth

Verdict

Silence Reigns looks a useful recruit to the hunter chase ranks and is fancied to resume winning ways at the main expense of Red Brook Lad and Jabiru. The selection was rated 138 at his best over fences and after an encouraging performance when beating nine rivals at Newbury was brought down over the National fences last time. This looks altogether an easier assignment and Silence Reigns holds solid claims. Red Brook Lad put up a career best effort when beating Hermes III at Sandown in February but has been found wanting in two starts since then, while Jabiru is held by the selection on running at Newbury. Ludlow winner Phoenix Phlyer and Fakenham scorer Enitsag are others to consider but Silence Reigns has an obvious chance and gets the nod.
