Verdict

GREENFYRE had little chance against the very impressive La Rioja at Newbury but wasn't fancied so improvement should be guaranteed. She has a nice pedigree and, unless there is something decent amongst the newcomers, should go one better. The remainder with experience look to have a mountain to climb but there are some interesting first-timers, not least the selection's stablemate Marenko whose dam produced a juvenile winner with her first foal. Croara is by a speed-based stallion out of a staying mare while Salvo is a half-sister to no less than eight winners and is one to note.
