Seven of these have won over the course or on the Rowley track though only Amazing Red and Fire Jet also over the distance, the former having won this a year ago from 9lb lower. He's continued to perform well and can get into contention again. The latter was 6l behind last year though has a huge pull in the weights but had no answer to LISSITZKY here last month when Andrew Balding's charge was showing much improved form. He's handed the vote though What A Welcome finished in front of Amazing Red when runner-up to King's Advice at Goodwood and Patrick Chaming's charge, who was brilliantly placed to land six handicaps last year, has to be a threat on that form. Spirit Ridge tackles the trip for the first time but looks certain to be suited and had Melting Dew a long way behind over 1m4f here last month
