Verdict

The first of many trappy handicaps on the card and hopefully at least 16 will stand their ground to enable each-way betting on the first four. SIGRID NANSEN gets in here off a basement mark of just 45 but is more consistent than many of her rivals and was only beaten a couple of lengths last time despite finishing unplaced. Previous efforts read well enough in the context of this modest affair and she's a hopeful win and place selection. Ascot Day and General Brook are both course and distance winners who arrive in decent form and should be there or thereabouts, whilst the ex-German Amangiri is one to note in the market on this British debut for the Bridgwater yard.
