No surprise that only one favourite has been successful in the last 10 years, though nine of those renewals have been won by a four or five-year-old. Ayr Silver Cup winner Huntsmans Close returns to action off a 7lb higher mark but still has claims while Shore Step ended last year with a double, beating Bahamian Heights at Doncaster. Dinkum Diamond is a rare winner nowadays but is back handicapping after a pipe-opener at Doncaster and Blaine should be sharper for a comeback run at Musselburgh. Suzi's Connoisseur ended last year with a win over 7f at Leicester but Andrea Atzeni prefers GAMESOME, who was up against it in the Group 3 Abernant over track and trip last month but should fare better in this grade.
