Verdict

The absence of ante-post favourite Found has left LUCIDA at the head of the betting and with good reason. Jim Bolger's filly has already beaten most of the other fancied horses including Fadhayyil when winning the Rockfel here in September and had earlier finished ahead of Malabar, Osaila and Qualify when runner-up in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh. Osaila made a winning reappearance in the Nell Gywn last month and Redstart won the Fred Darling at Newbury, beating Jellicle Ball and Tiggy Wiggy over 7f. Successful in the Cheveley Park over 6f, the latter is the only Group 1 winner in the field but there are major doubts about her ability to last home after that Newbury race. The same comment applies to Listed 6f winner Terror while Irish Rookie, Local Time and Queen Nefertiti have something to prove in this grade. Ryan Moore was due to ride Found but now wears the same colours on David Wachman's Legatissimo. She stepped up on her earlier form to win a Listed event at Gowran only a week ago and has been supported in the betting since so warrants respect.
