In depth

Verdict

Stoic Leader comes here in excellent form and looks the answer to a tricky three-year-old sprint in which the dangers include Ground Zero, La Corujera and Summer Special. Roger Fisher's charge has proved a most progressive perfomer of late, recording back-to-back wins at Southwell and Hamilton in May before finishing a close second at Catterick last time. The son of Danehill Dancer is able to race off the same handicap mark and, with conditions in his favour, should give another good account under his capable apprentice. Ground Zero is still a maiden but showed respectable form in useful company as a juvenile and didn't last home after making the running over seven furlongs on his latest start at Beverley last month. Tim Easterby's charge should prove well suited by the drop in trip and is one to consider off a fair mark while Summer Special has proved a model of consistency of late and has claims on his latest close second in a higher grade at Hamilton. La Corujera was below her best last time but enters calculations if reproducing the form of her reappearance outing when narrowly denied in a useful handicap at Redcar while Royal Grand has more to do after lifting a weak Wolverhampton claimer last time.
