Verdict

Having stamped himself as a really exciting novice chaser, Fundametalist gets the call in this three-runner affair. The selection proved himself a high-class novice hurdler, winning the Royal & SunAlliance Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Judging from his impressive win in a Grade 2 event at Cheltenham last time from useful chasers Comply Or Die and My Will over a trip short of his best, he looks very good indeed and we are looking forward to seeing him run today. He faces just two opponents, the useful Vodka Bleu, who is a stable companion of Comply Or Die, and See You Sometime, the sole course winner in the line-up who came good over fences at Fontwell last time. All things being equal, though, Fundamentalist sets the bar at which the others have to aim and , accordingly, he gets the vote.
