In depth

Verdict

Sandy's Legend can land the opener at the expense of Kinrande, Sea Lark and newcomer Strategic Quest to name but three. John Gosden does not run them on the all-weather unless they can pay their way, so it is pretty certain that Sandy's Legend will be found a suitable opportunity to pay his way. Although well held by the winner at Wolverhampton last time, he was prominent for a long time and will benefit from the step up in trip today. Kinrande, a son of Sri Pekan, seemed to take to the Polytrack when third to Karen's Caper here last month and is another to consider, along with Sea Lark who was down the field on both trips to Wolverhampton. He can only get better with time, while Strategic Quest is interesting. Too backward to debut on Turf, she is a half-sister to several winners, and should be noted if the market speaks in her favour. For the winner we return to Sandy's Legend.
