This is a competitive sprint handicap in which Lafi, Smokin Beau, Texas Gold and Forever Phoenix look to be the leading players and the vote is given to Texas Gold. The selection is taken to get the better of Smokin Beau here despite finishing behind him last time. Smokin Beau is in cracking form and has been the subject of market support on each of his last two starts. He landed the odds to justify that support last time at Lingfield and although he has a penalty for that success, he does have a claimer on board which means he's only effectively gone up 3lbs for that win. However, our selection was only beaten a neck last time and at the revised weights he should get the better of him today. Forever Phoenix could go well but he is best on the all-weather. Lafi holds claims as he was a good second behind Resplendent Glory at Sandown last time. That was only his second start over the minimum trip so there may be more to come. This is a fascinating race in which Texas Gold is tipped to get his head in front.
