In depth

Verdict

A high quality renewal and Promising Lead is taken to account for Measured Tempo and Cast In Gold. Sir Michael Stoute's filly won well on debut and while the fact that she is a daughter of Danehill may slightly concern some, it is worth noting that her dam, Arrive, did handle soft ground perfectly well. Measured Tempo is a previous winner with significant cut underfoot. Her stable form has scarcely inspired confidence this term and the jury has to be out as a consequence despite rumours that she is working well on the gallops. Cast In Gold had to wait until October before breaking her maiden. She can front run if required. Ransom Captive was last of seven in a hot listed event at Lingfield. The winner of that race has gone on to campaign at Group 3 level. Connections believe that In Safe Hands should improve for a step up in trip although this is a lot tougher than the Nottingham maiden previously won. Fiumcino needs to step up on all known events. Promising Lead looks to have plenty to like about her at this level and secures the nomination.
