In depth

Verdict

Len Lungo's The Weaver steps up to three miles for the first time and is preferred to You're The Man and Clear Dawn. The last mentioned has been campaigned over hurdles of late after a spell chasing and remains well treated on the best of his form but is becoming expensive to follow. Mick Easterby's Kings Square has a nice racing weight but needs to improve to trouble the principals and of more interest may be top weight Time Spin, who showed promise on his reappearance but disappointed last time. Richard Guest's Sconced is a consistent performer and is another worthy of a mention although a bigger threat may come from You're The Man. The eight-year-old showed improved form when chasing home Brandy Wine at Ayr last time although a 3lb rise since then seems a shade high and preference is for The Weaver. Len Lungo's gelding stepped up on previous form when tackling 2m4f here last time, staying on behind Count Fosco and there should be more to come over today's longer trip.
