Verdict

An excellent prize has produced a fine field and it looks very competitive with Mark Johnston complicating matters by saddling five. Jockey bookings are difficult to fathom but Franny Norton has been going well for the yard and he was on board when Blue Atlantic dead-heated on his reappearance at Beverley where he was joined in the closing stages after making most. Notarised may prove best of the remainder of the Johnston quintet as he was a very impressive winner over two useful rivals at Yarmouth and looks progressive. Joe Fanning has ridden the lightly-raced Alex My Boy in his two latest starts but this time is on board Master Of Finance, who is stepping up markedly in trip. LIBRAN won minor races here and at Lingfield before finding the very progressive Al Busayyir just too strong at Redcar. He's a half-brother to a winner over this trip in France and, with further progress virtually guaranteed, he's handed the vote. Marco Botti trains Al Busayyir so he'll be hopeful of a big run from Latin Charm, who got no sort of run when stepped up to this trip at York after a promising reappearance at Doncaster.
