    Verdict

As a course and distance winner Willhewispa has to come into calculations here despite a penalty and we think he can win again, with Allez Frank on the short list alongside Country Affair, Delta Lady and Aliba. The selection could not follow up in handicap company last time back at this track but even so he ran with credit and showed improvement to be third in a better race. Back in this company he faces nothing special in opposition and may well be capable of winning another novices' contest. Country Affair was disappointing last time out after having shown promise so a watching brief is advised. Allez Frank will be popular but blundered away his chance last time and although he travels well he will need to jump better to win. Delta Lady won at Fakenham in May but has been out of sorts in handicaps since, though there return to this sphere should see her more closely involved. Djess won and egg and spoon race at Cartmel last time and more is needed now, while Aliba was previously rated in the 60s on the level but has not shown enough in two comeback runs to carry our cash and the one to do that here is Willhewispa.
