In depth

Verdict

Most of these enter the fray in fine shape though Pyromaniac, after scoring on the Flat and over hurdles in May, was a disappointment over timber at the Galway Festival. Queen Of Alba makes a quick reappearance after a very good run behind Devonshire in a Listed contest here on Wednesday though she was behind FACT OR FOLKLORE on her previous start at Roscommon and Willle McCreery's filly, who looked certain to be suited by this longer trip that day, can progress again and complete a double. Back Off Mate had been chasing before landing a Ballinrobe handicap in comfortable style though a 9lb rise looks a bit harsh while the consistent Hudson's Bay has yet to prove he acts in the conditions. Daliyan did very well to score over a trip too short at Gowran and, though raised 5lb, should get into the action.
