In depth

Verdict

Hamla made a promising reappearance at Wolverhampton last month but didn't show anything like that form a week later over this track and trip. She can do much better but Brick Rising is likely to improve when sent over further. Lady Lunchalot was beaten two lengths when receiving 7lb from the 58-rated Devout here last time so looks poorly handicapped but Fire Fairy isn't out of this as she's been staying on over much shorter trips. Gabrial The Duke has won twice over the course and distance and again ran well over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last week. He'll be a threat but DAY IN DAY OUT looks the one to be on as he just failed to catch Pairumani Prince over a mile at Kempton in December and, as that winner is now rated 72, Ralph Beckett's charge looks well treated on a mark of 65.
