In depth

Verdict

COMANCHERO bombed out badly for favourite backers at Epsom but the trip didn't seem to be the issue so we'll give Andrew Balding's three-year-old a chance to make amends. L'Hirondelle is a regular at Lingfield Park and though it's almost two years since Michael Attwatter's veteran got his head in front, the handicapper is at least playing his part by dropping him down the weights. Isabella Beeton was tried in the Oaks trial earlier in the season, and while her Turf form is little to write home about, she did win a juvenile maiden on the Polytrack at Kempton. Polar Forest shouldn't be dismissed off the back of a flop on very testing ground at Haydock Park. Richard Guest's four-year-old has been given a couple of months off following that experience and the Wolverhampton winner had been running with consistency prior to that performance. Lacock makes his first appearance on an artificial surface.
